November : Through the history of Bangladesh

In this post I will try to highlight the days of November, 1971...

2nd November :  Pakistan declared war against India on 3rd December 1971, but only one month before the declaration Mrs Gandhi said in London, "We in India are determined that we are not going to be saddled with another country's problem. All the refuges must go back."

9th November : The first naval fleet of Bangladesh NAVY consisting of six small patrol vessels were inaugurated.

19th November : The 2nd Battery of Bangladesh Artillery was raised on this day of 1971 in Ukitala of India with six 3.7 inch howitzer. On the first day the howitzer pounded the Positions of Pakistani Army in Jakiganj and Atgram of Sylhet on 26th November. 8 East Bengal Regiment captured Shamser Nagar with the fire with the fire support of the 2nd Field Battery. During the Z force and Indian Army the accurate and timely fire support of the Battery in places like Juri, Gazipur, Fultala, Shagarnal, Bharmman Bazar and Moulabi Bazar created panic and devastation among the Pakistani invaders.

20th November : The peace loving people of US created the forum "Americans for Bangladesh" and arranged a poetry recital program on evening of this day in Saint George Church, New York.
